Glassware

Glassware refers to all the glass items that are used as tableware for eating a meal. It usually means drinking vessels, but sometimes also includes dinnerware made of glass. The material of the glass may be either glass or plastics as polystyrene and polycarbonate. Most of the glassware includes

Tumblers.
Tumblers are used for serving mixed drinks poured over ice. They hold between 8-12 ounces and come in three general types.

Beer Glass.
Beer Glass.Designed for drinking beer. Different styles of glasses are used for different types of beer to enhance aromatic volatiles, to showcase appearance, and to have an effect on the beer head.

Highball Glass.
Highball GlassIn 19th century, mixed drinks were were served in the tall high glasses known as "highballs" .

Collins Glass
Collins GlassUsed to serve Tom Collins Cocktail. It is taller than a traditional highball tumbler glass.

Shot Glass
Shot GlassSmall glass designed to measure liquor, that is to be either poured into a mixed drink or drunk directly from the glass.

Iced Tea Glass.
Iced Tea GlassBest suited to iced beverages, smoothies, and cocktails. Made of polycarbonate acrylic, that is shatterproof, stain proof, and highly resistant to chips and cracks. The glasses are thermal, ice melts slowly and iced tea stays cold longer.

Old fashioned Glass
Old fashioned GlassAlso known as "low-balls" and are the shortest tumbler used for serving a simple cocktail or liquor over ice.

Stemware
Stemware includes designer and fancy glasses. They have a long, sleek handle to hold.

Wine Glass
Wine GlassGlasses designed for having wine. Glasses for red wine are larger and wider than those for whites. This is because the flavor of the red wine is heavy and it needs to be inhaled so as fully enjoy it. They can be made either from glass, crystal, metals and plastic.

Stem-less Wine Glass
Stem-less Wine GlassSame as traditional wine glasses, but without the stem. This works best with red wines because the hands warm the glass as one holds it.

Snifter
SnifterHas a short stem, and the main vessel has a wide bottom that narrows at the top to trap the aromas of the drink in the glass. Even though this stemware has the capacity to hold 6-8 ounces, yet one should not pour more than 2-3 ounces at a time. This allows the aromas to open up inside the glass.

Champagne Flute
Champagne FluteIs a stem glass with a tall, narrow bowl. The bowl is designed to retain champagne's carbonation, by reducing the surface area at the opening of the bowl.

Cocktail or Martini Glass.
Cocktail or Martini GlassHave a wide, cone-shaped bowl on a stem with a flat base. They are used to serve more than just martinis and work well for any shaken and strained cocktails hat need to stay cold to be fully enjoyed.

Margarita Glass
Margarita GlassShaped similarly to martini glasses, with a wide bowl on a stem that is usually cone-shaped, but not always. The main difference is that these glasses are thicker to accommodate frozen or blended margaritas and salt crystals on the rim.
